John Harman's Cheddar Cheese Cocktail Spreads
Delightful Cheddar Cheese Cocktail Spreads, using John Harman's secret recipe.
Due to circumstances beyond our control, these spreads are NOT available during this holiday season. Our co-packer has retooled their plant and no longer packs cheese.
The spreads date back to the 1940's and 1950's when Mr. Harman convinced the Chef of an exclusive New York Supper Club to share the recipe. When John Harman was vp of J.W. Thompson Advertising, he had the knack of talking New York Chefs into giving him their recipes. He carried a little black book with him for all these recipes. It is sad to see a product disappear that dates back to when the store started in the late 50's.
Made with Harman's Really-Aged Cheddar, Sandeman Oporto Port Wine, and lightly spiced with Cayenne Pepper. We "spike" one spread with Courvoisier Cognac and the other with Old Jamaica Rum. Serve at room temperature.
