This book has special ties to Sugar Hill as our native son, Charlie Stewart, was one of the many syrup producers that shared their wealth of historical sugaring knowledge (and photos) towards the writing of this book. Charlie has passed on but on page 67 of this book, you'll travel back to 1965 when Charlie's Sugaring operation was one of the largest in our area.

Sugar Hill was named for the Sugar Maples and the maple sugaring done in our area. One of the oldest photos in this book depicts sugaring in our town back in the 1880's.
